Skills in Lexroom

How Lexroom handles reusable work — and how to bring a Skillagram skill into it.

The short version

Lexroom doesn't have a "skills" feature, and it has no skill import or export. It's built around research, analysis, and drafting from verified, citable sources, plus private knowledge libraries for your firm's own documents. Reuse and sharing happen at the level of accounts, libraries, and saved work shared within the firm via SSO — not as portable skill files.

So on Skillagram, a "Lexroom skill" is really a repeatable way of working — a saved query pattern, a drafting approach, a curated knowledge library — that you set up by hand, not a file you import.

What Lexroom actually gives you

Skillagram conceptClosest thing in Lexroom
A skill (a reusable method)A repeatable research/drafting pattern you run yourself
A clause bank / firm precedentYour private knowledge library (your uploaded documents)
Sharing with the teamShared logins and libraries via SSO

Lexroom's core promise is source-grounded output: every answer ties back to official references (legislation, case law, regulatory materials) with citations and direct links, so a professional can verify it immediately. That verification-first design is the point of the tool — more than any agent-building layer.

Bringing a Skillagram skill into Lexroom (the realistic path)

Because there's nothing to import, you reproduce a skill by setting up the conditions it needs:

  1. Build the knowledge base it assumes. If the skill relies on firm precedent or internal policy, upload those into a private knowledge library so Lexroom can search your own data alongside its verified sources.
  2. Reuse the skill's query and drafting instructions. Run the skill's prompts/questions as natural-language queries; keep the wording the skill recommends so results stay consistent.
  3. Apply the skill's review checklist to the cited output — Lexroom surfaces the sources; the checklist tells you what to verify before relying on it.
  4. Save and share within the firm. Configure logins for teammates and share libraries so everyone works from the same base, managed through SSO.

Where Lexroom shines: civil-law jurisdictions (it started with Italian law and is expanding across civil-law Europe). If a Skillagram skill was written for a common-law context, expect to adapt its sources and citations before it's reliable in Lexroom.

What you can't do (yet)

The portability reality

Lexroom's architecture is deliberately data-first: its value comes from a large base of continuously updated, verified legal sources tied to every output. That makes it excellent for grounded research — and means "skills" here are about how you query and what's in your library, not a transferable file. Skillagram's role is to share those methods and library structures so you can set them up quickly.

Product features change quickly. If Lexroom's interface or capabilities have moved since this was written, check Lexroom's FAQ or support for the current state.
